I’m welcoming Brita Addams today!

Hey there, Brita! Let’s get started, shall we?

Me: What genres do you enjoy reading most?

Brita: I am very into gay fiction at the moment.

Why do you write and when did you start?

Brita: I write because it’s who I am, it’s a part of me and I couldn’t NOT do it if I tried. I’ve written most of my life, but only decided to take the publication step about two years ago. I never thought I’d ever be published and I still have to pinch myself to believe it’s all happened.

Me: Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive?

Brita: I have the best family in the world. They are proud of my writing, though none of them will read my racy stuff. I couldn’t ask for more support.

Me: What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader?

Brita: At Gay Lit, a reader came up to me at a book signing, and pointed at the cover flats on the table, saying, “I’ve read this one, and this one and this one.” She was one of those readers I didn’t even know, but she’s read my stuff.

Me: Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals?

Brita: I honestly don’t sacrifice. I have my days sorted in such a way that I write during the day, when my husband is doing his own thing. At five, dinner is ready and we spend the rest of the evening together. When we have date day (usually Friday), I’m there, no doubt.

I plan to continue writing until I can’t. I don’t believe I could stop if I tried.

Me: What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

Brita: I had my usual one cup of coffee and a cinnamon raisin bagel with crunchy peanut butter.

Me: What’s your favorite position?

Brita: Sitting up with my laptop on my lap.

Me: PERFECT!

I’m welcoming J.S. Wayne today!

Hey there, J.S.! Let’s get started, shall we?

Me: What genres do you enjoy reading most?

J.S.:  My favorite genre to read is urban fantasy. I love the mash-up of fantasy and our reality, and it makes for a nice break from erotic romance! (Not that I have anything against it, but when you write it day in and day out, sometimes you need to go in a completely different direction to relax. Which makes me wonder how OB-GYNs unwind, come to think of it…)

Me: Why do you write and when did you start?

J.S.:  I write for the same reason I breathe: Because I simply have no choice. Sooner or later, all the stories and snippets I have floating around in my brain HAVE to come out! I’ve been writing, one way or the other, since I was eleven; but it wasn’t until I was seventeen that I got semi-serious about my craft. When I hit thirty and realized I still had a novel sitting on my hard drive that needed to be finished, I fully committed to writing if only as a hobby. Now, almost four years later, I’m succeeding beyond my wildest expectations, and I can only hope that momentum will keep going.

Me: Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive?

J.S.:  My family has always been very supportive of my writing, even the really, truly crappy writing. But now that they can see the rewards and how hard I have to work to achieve them, they are even more understanding of the crazy schedule I keep and the fifteen to twenty-hour days in front of the computer. My wife, in particular, is wonderful as a sounding board when I just need to take a minute and complain, gripe, and yeah, generally bitch!

Me: What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader?

J.S.:  The best comment I’ve gotten to date came from Mr. K.B. Cutter, speaking about “Angels Would Fall” on Goodreads. Com. He said:

This ends the debate if a het male can write romance.
The answer is YES! Angels Would Fall is a heavenly tale of Soul-bearer Moradiel who suddenly comes in conflict with his angelic lineage and duty when his latest assignment captures his heart. JS Wayne deftly weaves angelic lore and sweet romance to produce a vibrant, sexy story.
My only complaint-it was too short!
More, please!

I couldn’t ask for a better (print) review than that!

Me: Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals?

J.S.:  The sacrifices are absolutely worth it to me, but then I had at least some idea what I was getting myself into the moment I really knuckled down to my writing. There’s nothing better than reading a new review and seeing someone say that you’ve written something that touched them enough to make them want to tell others about it!

As far as continuing career goals, I want to reach the top of the New York Times Bestseller list, hone my craft to the point where people drop what they’re doing and camp out at Barnes and Noble to be the first to get my next book at midnight, and become a self-sustaining author. I knew it was a long road starting out, and I’m not going to stop until I just don’t have another word left in me. Fortunately, I don’t see that day coming anytime soon!

Me: What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

J.S.:  Anyone who knows me knows this is a trick question. I don’t eat breakfast! The closest I come is pounding down a two-liter bottle of Mountain Dew and smoking two cigarettes before I’m fit to be in the company of human beings, household pets, small appliances, barnyard animals, or anything with the letter “e” in it!

Me: What’s your favorite position?

J.S.:  Any kind that involves a naked woman. Or two. Or three! (I’m easy to get along with J)

Seriously, though, I’ve always found doggy-style to be the most enjoyable for me and my partner. If it ain’t broke, why fix it?

Me: Appreciate the candidness, J. You’re one of a kind, for sure.

Ancient Magic by J.S. Wayne

Noble Romance Timeless Desire Collection

Blurb:

More than two decades have passed since the Hodans invaded the peaceful kingdom of Jurav. In their zeal for conquest, they have mercilessly rent the Juravian national character asunder, starting with the temples of their gods.
Varath’s uncle raised him to one day assume his father’s mantle—command warden of the Temple of Noradi, the most beloved goddess of the Juravian pantheon and the deity of heart, hearth, and the fires which burn in both.
Melody would have been High Priestess to Noradi, and her own family has groomed her with equal care against the day when the Hodan hordes will be expelled and she can assume her rightful place as the most powerful figure in the entire nation . . . and as Varath’s bride.
When Varath departed to serve in the Hodan army, Melody saw it as an unconscionable betrayal. Now Varath has returned to take his father’s place as the sole guardian of a temple where no one dares enter, and he has made overtures to claim the other half of his bequest: Melody herself. But can Melody see past the deceptions and lies his rebellion has forced and learn to love the man who seems to have turned his back on his own people?

I’m welcoming KevaD today!

Hey there, KevaD!

Hi, Bryl.

How courageous of you to allow me some time on your blog.

In celebration of my first appearance… EVER… here, I’ll be giving away a $10.00 gift certificate to a randomly selected commenter.

Now, Readers, after you’re done here, be sure to visit the next blog on the Noble Tour by clicking the tour logo in the sidebar. All commenters get entered into the drawing for a Kindle too!

But most of all, thank you for spending some time with us today, and Bryl and I both hope we leave you with a smile.

And if you happen to buy a copy of “A Dance with Bogie and Bacall” or “Desire Damned,” you’ll certainly leave me with a smile. https://www.nobleromance.com/Authors/116/KevaD

Me: Let’s get started, shall we?  What genres do you enjoy reading most?

KevaD: I don’t limit my reading to any one or two genres. I look for skillfully crafted characters and mesmerizing plots. There are just too many great authors for me to minimize my reading boundaries.

Me: Why do you write and when did you start?

KevaD: I used to sit in the yard and tell my tales, but nobody ever stopped to listen, so I decided to write them down in the hope of sharing my stories. The two cops that suggested I quit shouting at passing cars played a part in that decision.

Truth: My first story was in crayon. My mother wrote an episode for a soap opera in the hope of finding work, and I sat on the floor drawing my story while she typed. Neither of our submissions was accepted. I still don’t know why. I used different colored crayons.

Me: Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive?

KevaD: My immediate family has been supportive since day one. They may not always understand what or why I write, but they love me and support my efforts. My mother, now deceased, was never prouder than when my first book was published. I had done what she had given up on decades before. She never read my book as it’s a gay romantic comedy and her religious beliefs couldn’t condone reading it, but she made sure to tell anyone and everyone all about the book. I miss her.

Me: That’s simply the most wonderful way to remember one’s mother. Touching, sir.

Me: What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader?

KevaD: That her husband stopped the truck they were driving in out of concern for her uncontrollable laughter when she was reading “Out of the Closet.” How can you not appreciate that comment?

Me: Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals?

KevaD: For me the sacrifices aren’t really sacrifices. I love what I do. I’m a storyteller. The only thing I won’t set aside for my craft is my family. I’m fortunate to have a wife who understands that when I’m lost in a story, the fact the house is burning down just makes for another fantastic scene I need to get down before I climb out the window.

My goals? I’m that wandering spinner of tales who will always be searching for one more ear to tell my stories to.

Me: What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

KevaD: A glass of chocolate milk (2% with Hershey’s syrup) and two pieces of buttered white toast. Not healthy, but it sure was good.

Me: What’s your favorite position?

KevaD: In my chair at the keyboard, a blanket over my legs, and one of the cats on my lap. Unfortunately, Supreme Commander of Kentucky wasn’t available, and Angelina Jolie doesn’t appear to be headed for divorce any time soon.

KevaD: Once more, thank you all for dropping by, and I hope we chat again soon.

Me: Thanks for being here today. You are always a pleasure to talk to!

I’m welcoming Sarah Ballance today!

Hey there, Sarah! Let’s get started, shall we?

Me: What genres do you enjoy reading most?

Sarah: Hands down, romantic suspense. I read my first one as a free Kindle download from Amazon, and it was love at first sight. I knew from that moment I had to write romantic suspense, and every time I pick one up I fall in love with the genre all over again—in fact, it’s a guaranteed way to re-energize my writing when I hit the skids. There’s something about adding elements of danger to sexual tension that gives me a delicious inner meltdown.

Me: Why do you write and when did you start?

Sarah: I write because it gives me a feeling of accomplishment. I homeschool my six kids. With seven of us in the house the  majority of the day, nothing is ever “done.” There’s always more laundry, more school work, a pile of dishes to wash, and a situation to diffuse. If things dare get boring, something always happens to remedy it in short order. (Two-hundred-fifty pound hog running loose in the yard, anyone?). Writing not only offers an escape from that, but it gives me a solid sense of achievement. But I never wanted to be an author—in fact, I started three years ago because I heard myself tell someone I couldn’t do it. I think I’ve soundly proven myself wrong, LOL.

Me: Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive?

Sarah: Outside of my husband, my family doesn’t know. They know I write because I have quite a few nonfiction credits, but nary a one knows I’ve made the switch to fiction. Even though my writing doesn’t usually cross the line to graphic, I know enough about *some* of the people in my life to know they’d judge, and I don’t want them to take it out on my kids. There’s been an unfortunate trend of that kind of thing, so I’m laying low until the kids are a bit older. In the meantime, I’ve met an amazing community of readers and writers online so I’m not at all lacking in support, and my husband is my biggest fan (not to mention the best research partner EVER!).

Me: What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader?

Sarah: Oh, gosh, it’s hard to narrow this down. Any time a reader takes the time to comment it just blows my mind, and when they go so far as to say my stories have touched them or made them cry, I feel like I’m at the pinnacle of everything I could hope to be as an author.

Me: Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals?

Sarah: As a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom, there’s no lack of quality time with my kids. I spend a lot of one-on-one time with them on a daily basis. (Although not without fail, as some days they go to work with my husband or spend the night with grandparents). That said, the only real sacrifice is “family time” in the evenings because that’s when my husband takes over and I go hide to write. As much as I’d like to have more of those Norman Rockwell moments with the whole gang, the fact is almost everything lands in chaos when you’re dealing with six young children. In the meantime, my husband and I aren’t lacking in quality time together. We certainly know how to make every second count. *grin*

Me: What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

Sarah: Aw, man, I’m busted. We baked chocolate chip cookies for breakfast. *hangs head, wipes chocolate from lip*

Me: Chin up, lady. You’ve had the best breakfast yet, imo! Hah! (psst! Pass me one of those.)

Me: What’s your favorite position?

Sarah: Um, what? Let’s just say I’ve yet to find out I don’t like, but I’m all about experimenting with my husband until I find one I do! LOL.

About Sarah Ballance

Sarah Ballance author bio: Sarah and her husband of over fourteen years live on the mid-Atlantic coast with their six young children, all of whom are perfectly adorable when they’re asleep.  She often jokes that she writes to be around people who will listen to her, but her characters aren’t much better than her kids.  Fortunately, her husband is quite supportive, having generously offered to help her research “the good parts.”  She’s never had to ask twice.

I’m welcoming Lucy Felthouse today!

Hey there, Lucy Felthouse! Let’s get started, shall we?

Me: What genres do you enjoy reading most?

Lucy: I love to read erotica, erotic romance, urban fantasy, paranormal stuff, and the occasional chick lit.

Me: Why do you write and when did you start?

Lucy: I write because I love it. I’ve written on and off since I was a small child. But I only started writing for publication in 2006, and when I got that first acceptance I got the bug. Now I can’t stop!

Me: Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive?

Lucy: Well some of them know, some of them don’t. There are also some that I suspect do know but just haven’t said anything. But those that do know are very supportive.

Me: What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader?

Lucy: I don’t remember it word for word, but I had a lovely comment recently where someone said that my writing voice really suited my work and that they’d really enjoyed several of my pieces. I’ve always written in the way that comes naturally, and this affirmed that I’m obviously getting it right for some people!

Me: Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals?

Lucy: I combine my writing with the business I run, dividing my time between my tasks as necessary. I work longer hours now I’m self employed than I did before, but I’m much happier. I’m doing something I thoroughly enjoy, as well as dedicating more time to my writing. Since I have done this, I’ve been getting more work published, too. So in my case, I would definitely say the sacrifices are worth it.

Me: What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

Lucy: A bowl of Cheerios.

Me: What’s your favorite position?

Lucy: Sorry, but as I don’t use a pen name my private life remains firmly private!

Me: (Good girl. Love the classy answer.)

I’m welcoming Jess Anastasi today!

Hey there, Jess! Let’s get started, shall we?

What genres do you enjoy reading most? I’ll read a few different genres – sci-fi, paranormal, urban fantasy, historical, romantic suspense. Just depends on what mood I’m in when I go to pick up a book.

Why do you write and when did you start? I started writing straight out of high school ten years ago. At the moment I write sci-fi romance, romantic suspense and have a more straight-forward paranormal romance idea I’d like to explore in the near future.

Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive? I think my writing is more sensual than erotic and since most romance novels have at least one or two sex scenes per book, I guess most of my family weren’t that surprised that I’ve written my fair share of naked, hot scenes. They’re all supportive of my career being a writer.

What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader? I’m going to cheat and talk about the best review I’ve ever gotten instead, the reviewer had this to say:

“Ms. Anastasi has that rare ability to draw a reader to the heart of a character’s emotions and insecurities that so many authors wish they possessed. Her main characters are real, likeable, and easy to care about, and her sex scenes – better described as love scenes – are near poetry, they’re so beautifully and eloquently written.”

Needless to say, I was quite touched by that. I suppose I find it humbling that someone can be so enthusiastic and impressed by something that I’ve written.

The full review can be read here: http://www.twolipsreviews.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6287&Itemid=36

Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals? At the moment I’m in the position where most everything else in my life comes before my writing. I write only when everything else has been done. So I’ve never had to make a sacrifice for my writing. My career goal at the moment is to get an agent and have a book published with one of the “big six” New York publishers.

What did you eat for breakfast this morning? Same thing I have pretty much every morning – toast, black tea and fruit. I’m a creature of habit.

I’m welcoming H.C. Brown today!

Hey there, H.C.! Let’s get started, shall we?

Me: I see you’ve written another hot BDSM tale. What genres do you enjoy reading most?

HC: I enjoy audio books. I buy mostly Historical Romance and thrillers. I listen to books because I’m too tired to turn a page by the time I’ve finished writing.

Me: Why do you write and when did you start?

HC: Writing is a compulsion; it is something I need to do every day. I have stories lining up, my Muse supplies two or more before the last chapter of the previous story hits paper. I started writing stories—no I told stories from the time I could speak. I had an imaginary monkey at two years old so I guess the stories started around that time. Writing for publication started in 2006

Me: Much of your writing is rather erotic, though not all. I’m curious, what your family feels about your writing? Are they supportive?

HC: I write a broad spectrum of genres. All are erotic apart from my YA, which I write under the pen name Pia Moonglow. My daughter will not read any of my books—not one line and she is not supportive of my work at all, in fact, she is the opposite. My sons, daughter-in laws, my in-laws ALL support me fully. So do my friends, which is great.

One of my daughter in–laws, Veronica, is one of my readers. This girl is not afraid to tell me if I am falling off the path of storytelling. You must remember I write M/F, M/F/M and M/M erotic romance some of which also incorporates BDSM.

My husband—my rock—is very secure in his sexuality, and I can and do read every line to him. He keeps me on schedule, makes sure I eat and won’t allow me to work until I drop. He tells me he is proud of me and as any author will tell you, we all need support and a few kind words go a very long way.

Me: What’s the most interesting comment you’ve received from a reader?

HC: I quote: I downloaded your latest book from the internet—you know one of those free sites. When are you going to write the next in the series and will it be available for free as well?

Me: Wow. (Sorry to interrupt, but that’s just… Wow.) On one hand it’s great someone likes your writing. On the other, though, it’s a shame sites like that exist and that potential buyers are being drawn to them.

Me: Writing can be a lonely venture. Sometimes, sacrifices are required in our lives. Are the sacrifices worth it? What are your continuing career goals?

HC: Lonely? Not for me, I LOVE to be in the story—hell, I dream the story. For me it is escapism at the highest degree. I think having a great critique partner helps a lot too; I need a good kick in the butt sometimes to keep me in the zone.

I continue to be optimistic about my writing career, I think we all want to reach the pinnacle of our chosen career and yes the brass ring looks good from here —reaching it? Well I guess time will tell.

Me: What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

HC: Yoghurt

Me: And how could I let you go without asking you at least ONE raunchy question? Hmm… What’s your favorite position?

HC: LOL . . . for what Bryl? Let me see . . . ah yes, I sit down on the toilet— oh yeah, and I play left right out in basketball . . . or was that netball?

Confused by his body’s reaction to the men at his gym, Seth seeks help from the only gay club he knows—Floggers. Is the man crazy? Seeking answers, the sweet, vanilla virgin marches into the BDSM club to speak to the owner, Rio Knight.

Realization that he has been on the wrong team all his life comes in the form of a six-foot-seven Adonis by the name of Matt Duffey. Instantly attracted to the leather-clad alpha male, Seth must leave his old life behind and embrace his newfound sexuality

Seth thought his life had complications before he met Matt, but nothing comes close to the rollercoaster ride in the big dom’s arms.
